Why should I set up round ups?

When you use your cards or connected devices, we automatically round up your spare change to the nearest £1 and give it to the causes of your choice. It’s that simple. So you can change the world every time you shop. You probably won’t notice the spare change but the causes you give to definitely will and you’d be surprised how much big change we can make with small change.

What are round ups?

Rounds ups are micro-donations you pledge every time you shop using a credit or debit card connected to your Sustainably account. We round up your transactions to the nearest £1 and give your spare change to the charity of you choice. So if you buy a coffee for £2.56, you make a £0.44 donation.

How do round ups work?

By connecting a credit or debit card to Sustainably, you allow us to track and round up your transactions to the nearest £1 and give your spare change to the charity of your choice every time you shop.

To start giving round ups, select a charity you want to support, and add the credit or debit card you wish to connect to your Sustainably account. Then every time you shop on that credit or debit card or connected device linked to it, you pledge a round up. We take your donation when your round ups reach £5 and distribute it to your chosen charity, together with any eligible gift aid payments.

How much of my donation goes to my chosen charity?

Sustainably charges a 5% fee. So for every £5 you donate, if you are eligible for gift aid, your charity receives £5.66 and Sustainably retains £0.32. If you are not eligible for gift aid, for every £5, your charity receives £4.48 and Sustainably retains £0.25.

Do the retailers I buy from need to participate for me to give round ups?

No, retailers don’t need to participate for you to give round ups. Sustainably is completely retailer agnostic, which means that wherever you shop using a card connected to your Sustainably account, your round ups will work.
